Dr. Daneshmend has over 35 years of experience in the global mining sector, with a focus on Mining Technologies, Operational Excellence, and Digital Transformation, complemented by extensive exposure to and familiarity with Environmental, Social, and Governance aspects of minerals extraction. His extensive expertise, acquired through a combination of entrepreneurial endeavours, industrial consulting, and academic activities, spans the breadth of mining applications ranging from large surface mines to bulk underground hard rock operations, and commodities such as copper and other base metals through to gold, as well as metallurgical coal. His consulting clients have included major mining companies such as Barrick, Valé, and Teck – as well as major mining equipment vendors such as Caterpillar, Epiroc, Komatsu, and Sandvik. Laeeque received his Ph.D. from Imperial College, London with a specialization in Robotics and Automation. He holds the Chair in Mine-Mechanical Engineering at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

His work experience includes roles at Citibank (NYC and London) and Morgan Stanley (London), BMA Capital (Karachi), TAIB Bank (Bahrain) and Protiviti (Dubai) Ehsun holds a BA degree in economics from Middlebury College in Vermont, USA. He also has a Series 7 and Series 64 qualification from the SECP in NYC.
